 Michelle Peacock PhD

Clinical and Forensic Psychologist

As a clinical psychologist, I am trained to identify, diagnose and treat psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders.

I am a healer by nature and by profession. Intuitive, compassionate and sensitive to the suffering of others. I am invested in and care deeply about each patient, and am here to help each one make positive change. I help patients identify problems and define their goals for therapy, which may include personal, interpersonal, social, career, and educational, changes, adjustments, developments and improvements.

I specialize in anxiety disorders, depression, relationships, trauma and anger management, and treat individuals, couples and families (adults, teens and children over six) and give them powerful tools that can help them immediately and moving forward into their lives.

I’m trained in several empirically supported therapeutic techniques and often employ elements of different modalities to form a cohesive treatment plan for each patient. Modalities include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Attachment-Based Therapy. I also use biofeedback to help patients control stress, emotions and the interactions between the heart and brain.

I take an individualized approach to understand each patient's history, taking into consideration their unique experiences, feelings and perspectives belonging only to them. When working with children, I use play therapy to help them express their emotions and thoughts in a natural setting, and teach them social and problem-solving skills to better cope with life’s challenges.

If you're struggling, there is help. If you have a question or would like to schedule an appointment, please reach out directly any time. I look forward to meeting you.

PHILOSOPHY

The best therapy allows patients to develop the tools that allow them to become self-sufficient.

Change can be hard. Patients can sometimes have difficulty with motivation and remaining committed to change. Statistics tell us that empathy and authenticity are critical to successful therapeutic outcomes.

I provide an empathetic counseling in an authentic, honest, non-judgmental environment, committed to helping each patient. I challenge my patients, which creates a healthy, supportive, therapeutic bond between patient and doctor. This foundation allows patients to overcome obsticals and develop the trust necessary to work through the sometimes difficult, but rewarding process of self-discovery and healing.
